“Senator Jibrin Isah A. K. A. Echocho got a terrible Disgraced in Ankpa Local Government’, Kogi East.

The senator representing Kogi East in the National Assembly, Jibrin Isah also known as Echocho, got terribly disgraced during his recent campaign tour of the three Local Government Areas in Ankpa Federal Constituency ahead of the February 25th Senatorial election.

The Senator was terribly embarrassed by hundreds of youths in Ankpa who came out in their numbers to jeer while asking him to return to Governor Yahaya Bello who he said single-handedly made him Senator in 2019.

“The electorates in the Federal Constituency have vowed to vote out Echocho and the other APC candidates at the upcoming general elections on 25th of February 2023.”

It was indeed bad and worse publicity for Senator Isah as the embarrassment irked him to the extent he was poised to physically engage the youths until he was restrained by some of his acolytes and was whisked away.

Earlier, a day before he had a similar rejection in Ogodu, Abejukolo, Olla and OjiAji all in Omala Local Government and a more terrible outing in Ogugu, Okpo and Imane in Olamaboro Local Government) the area which should ordinarily be in the firm control of the current Deputy Governor as this is his Local government.

Senator Isah had long ago adopted Chief Edward Onoja as his preferred candidate to replace Yahaya Bello having committed to oblige him with other benefits based on an evolving arrangement. This is perhaps the reason for the lack of support from the APC members from Kogi East who clearly prefer the Chief of Staff, Pharm. Asuku as the next governor with the current Dekina LG council chairman, Hon Isyak Shaibu as his running mate.

You may recall in 2022, Senator Jibrin Isah had a similar experience with the Bassa and Ibaji people who were outright in their rejection of his “use and dump” behavior. These happened on the heels of his donation of 10 cartons of noodles and 24 loaves of bread to flood-ravaged victims in Kogi East.

The APC seems to be experiencing a very bad political season recently, January 14th this year, thousands of their members decamped to the main opposition party, the PDP. Prominent amongst them is the former deputy governor of the State. Chief Simon Achuba, a leading political giant from the central area of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Karaku and a former speaker of the house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Alfa Imam.

There seems to be no respite yet for these political duo from the Eastern flank who have sold their people for a morsel of political favour as other LGs gear up to dish out to them their rejection of the party they represent and their person.

He is the Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District of Kogi State at the 9th National Assembly.

In 2011, JibrinIsah contested for the Governorship ticket of the People’s Democratic Party, but he lost to Idris Wada. He will be contesting to retain his position as the member representing Kogi East senatorial district in the upcoming 2023 election.

Senator Isah was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of the State, Chief Edward Onoja and the House of Representatives candidate.

Also accompanying him on the tour in Ankpa Federal Constituency is the Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Rabiu Alfa, the respective Local Government Executive Chairmen and Party Chairmen, as well as various other stakeholders.
