Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari appointed new Chief Executive Officers for agencies and parastatals under the Federal Ministry of Information, Culture & Tourism. Among the new appointees is Mrs. Oluwabunmi Ayobami Amao, a cultural technocrat.
The Nigerian government announced the appointment of a new Director-General of the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC) via a press release from the Federal Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, which stipulated that Mrs. Oluwabunmi Ayobami Amao’s appointment is effective from September 1st, 2020.
On Tuesday, 1st September 2020, Ms. Oluwabunmi Ayobami Amao assumes duty as the New Director-General of CBAAC.
With the appointment, Ms. Amao becomes the 6th substantive Director-General of the Centre. She takes over from Mrs. Osaro Osayande who served in the capacity of the Director overseeing the office of the D.G between December 2019 and August 2020.
In her remarks, Ms. Amao appreciates Mrs. Osaro Osayande for the laudable achievement she records in the last eight months of her directorship. She hopes to continue in a similar vein.
While appealing for maximum cooperation among members of staff and the Management team, she seeks for their full support, teamwork and utmost synergy in order to accomplish more feats for the Centre in the next four years of her tenure. #WakaAboutAfrica
