You would agree that the Igbo culture is beautiful with the way people from different countries are trying to identify with the Igbos. The current Vice-president of Malawi was captured recently identifying with the Igbos by wearing the Igbo traditional attire known as isiagu.
Obviously, Chilima is in love with the “Isi Agu” traditional outfit which is mostly worn by the Igbo people in Eastern Nigeria.
Saulos Chilima who assumed office since 26th June 2020, as the Vice-President of Malawi, a landlocked country located in the southeast of the African Continent, has been spotted on at different occasions rocking the Igbo Isi Agu outfit while addressing his countrymen.
It is important to state clearly that Chilima is not an Igbo, but he sure expresses his love for their cultural dressing.
Chilima is a full rooted Malawian and has prior to his political ambitions, climbed key leadership positions in some of the well known successful international cooperations, such as in Airtel Malawi and Coca-Cola.
He was born on 12th February 1973, making him 47 years. He is married to Mary Chilima, who can be visibly seen accompany him during one of his public appearances in Malawi. Both couples have two children, Sean and Elizabeth Chilima
Meanwhile, reactions from social media raised questions if he may have a link to Igbo people. So others praised his smart look on the isiagu attire.
The Igbo tradition is one unique tradition that is beautiful. Igbo people are also beautiful. The Igbo culture has been exported to different parts of the world. The Igbo culture is true African culture.
With the true spirit of African brotherhood, the culture is gradually spreading it’s tentacles all the way to Malawi, a Southern African Country. The Vice Presidential of Malawi named, Saulos Klaus Chilima wore the dress with his wife. The wife dressed like an Igbo wife. That’s so beautiful.
Igbo’s traditional attire is beautiful. They are unique. There are different attire fir different categories of people. There is the attire for ordinary people, there is the attire for titled men. There are regalias for chiefs and traditional rulers.
The real red cap is for titled men. In Igbo land, you don’t wear the red cap unless you are a titled man. You can see how unique the Igbo culture is.
If you are not an Igbo and wish to identify with the Igbos, you are free to do so. There is beautiful Igbo attire everywhere. Just her one and look great.
