FG Impounds Flair Aviation Aircraft For Operating Commercial Flights Into Nigeria

The Federal Government through the Ministry of Aviation has impounded an aircraft operated by Flair Aviation; the United Kingdom-based Aviation Company for operating a commercial flight contrary to the humanitarian operations it was approved to operate into Nigeria.

Aviation Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika, who made this known on his official twitter handle, said that the crew of the flight is also under interrogation, as there shall be maximum penalty for the offense.

‘COVID-19, Flair Aviation, a UK company, was given approval for humanitarian operations but regrettably, we caught them conducting commercial flights. This is callous! The craft is impounded, the crew being interrogated. There shall be a maximum penalty. Wrong time to try our resolve,” the Minister said in his twitter handle; @hadisirika.

Recalled that Nigerian airspace was shot for both local and international flights to prevent the spread of COVID-19  pandemic except for essential flights such as humanitarian, emergency operations.
