The Chairman of the hotel and former Minister of State for Education, Mr. Kenneth Gbagi, was alleged to have ordered that workers – three women and a man – be stripped naked. Their nudes were filmed and the snapshots sent online by his teenage son. Activists and social media users condemned the act and urged the state Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa, to investigate the incident and arrest all those complicit.

The Imo State Government says it has sealed 13 hotels in the state for failure to settle their tax liabilities. The Chairman of Imo State Internal Revenue Service, Emma Ononaku, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Owerri. Onanaku said the IRS had earlier obtained a court order which empowered the outfit to seal the affected hotels. Massive fire has razed some vehicles at the premises of Lagos Airport Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria. Balls of fire were seen enveloping the atmosphere, as firefighters battled to put out the fire.
