Air Peace Embraer E 195- E2: NAHCO Begins Investigation, Suspends Personnel Involved

AirpeaceThe Management of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company(NAHCO) Plc said it has commenced an investigation on the ground handling equipment that destroyed an Air Peace Airbus A320 Aircraft that was scheduled to operate the Lagos–Owerri flight at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, yesterday.

This is just as the ground handler also informed us that it suspended some officials of the company to ensure a thorough and unhindered investigation of the incident.

The commencement of investigation on the incident and subsequent suspension of some officials was contained in a statement signed by the Group Executive Director, Business and Corporate Services, NAHCO PLC, Dr. Sola Obabori and made available to aviation journalists today in Lagos.

The incident disrupted Air Peace flight operations and made passengers stranded as the aircraft couldn’t embark on the journey.

“Air Peace is the biggest privately owned airline in Africa, and we are proud to have them as one of our prime clients. We share a very cordial relationship with the Airline, and we have been together all these years serving them diligently and professionally, since inception,” NAHCO said.

Continuing, NAHCO said, “We have invited the relevant regulatory and security agencies to swing into action and especially investigate the subject of sabotage and take an independent look at the incident.”

The ground handling company management said that to ensure proper and unhindered investigation, some senior operations officials have been suspended, while some others are being investigated.
